Volunteer for the Boxford Historical Society

We welcome your help! Whether you are interested in serving as a trustee or volunteering at one of our annual events such as the Boxford Apple Festival, The Grand Illumination or the Harbinger of Spring Social, your contribution is much appreciated.

Apple Festival Volunteers Needed:

  • Approximately 25 Crisp Bakers are needed to pick up frozen crisps from the HF House on Friday afternoon (prior to the event), cook the crisps and then return them to the HF house early Saturday AM (day of the event).
  • Crisp table servers
    • early AM (7:30ish) set up – typically 4 volunteers. 1-2 additional folks to assist with tent setup,  tables/chairs & hay bale placement, and setup/display of 55 apple crisps, 35 pies,  60+ donuts
    • 2 ice cream servers needed (2 shifts needed: 9:30am-12:30pm & 12:30pm-3:30pm)
    • 2 cashiers – 10am-3:30pm 
    • 4 pie/crisp servers (2 shifts needed: 9:30am-12:30pm & 12:30pm-3:30pm shifts; 2 for the AM shift and 2 for the PM shift)
    • 1 runner needed all day 
  • Stage Set up and Hay Bale (Friday afternoon, 4pm-5:30pm) – need 2-3 new recruits who can lift staging & hay bales
  • Stage Break down and Hay Bale Removal (Saturday afternoon,  4pm-5:30pm) – need 2-3 new recruits who can lift staging & hay bales
  • Merchandise Sales – need to recruit for at least 2 shifts:  9:30am-12:30pm & 12:30pm-3:30pm
